Atletico began the new year, nine points behind the table-toppers Barcelona at second place. Their first match of the year, however, is a Copa Del Rey clash against Lleida scheduled on Wednesday. Disappointing has to be the word to describe Atletico’s season this year, as they have crashed out of Europe’s elite competition UEFA Champions League.
It is definitely a big thing for a young midfielder to be eyed by a club as big as FC Barcelona. Saul Niguez has been a constant presence in the middle of the park for Diego Simone’s side, and his loss would be evident whenever the Madrid side takes their place on the field.
The midfielder has grown in stature, and it is just natural for a big club to tout for a young player such as Saul. Saul has proved to be a handy player but is his future certain with Barcelona coming strong for the midfielder?
