The Chilean International has entered the final 12 months of his current deal with the Gunners and has so far refused any talks over his contract expansion with the Gooners.
Arsenal’s previous offer of £225,000-a-week plus bonuses was turned down by Sanchez and he made it clear that he wants upwards of £300,000 before even considering agreeing to fresh terms.
Sanchez is said to be keen to leave the Gooners in search of better opportunities and Arsenal realising the fact that they will be losing their star striker for free next summer, has laid one last mega-money offer on the table in a bid to keep him at Emirates.
Sanchez has also attracted attention this summer from giant clubs like Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City but Arsene Wenger is confident that the player is to stay and has refused to accept he will be sold this summer.
The Gunners have taken a very big step by offering £300,000-a-week offer which looks like their last resort of tempting Sanchez for a long term stay.
Wenger has admitted that he is not super optimistic about Sanchez and in a recent interview with SFR Sport 1, he said, “He’s an Arsenal player in the short term. Now, will we manage to extend his contract?
“We didn’t manage to do that last season so I’m not super optimistic in that regard, but we have the firm intention of not selling him.”
