Borussia Dortmund manager Peter Bosz has called star Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang a terrible player in a bid to stop him from leaving for Spain.
The 28-year-old striker has long been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, after a promise to his Real Madrid supporting grand-father. However, with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has been in fine form for Dortmund, manager Peter Bosz has jokingly called the Gabon international a terrible footballer.
With both teams clashing in the Champions League for what looks like the last time this season, it looks like this could be Aubameyang’s last chance to impress Los Blancos with the hopes of a potential move. However, while the club has suffered in form having dropped out of both the Champions League and even let Bayern Munich overtake them in the Bundesliga.
However, in an interview, Peter Bosz said “He is a terrible player, very bad, not worth it for Real Madrid. It’s a joke. I’m telling you that so he stays with us. He is excellent and has the quality to play for Real Madrid but I hope he stays here. We are in a difficult phase, but must try to play a good match,”
It is not just a game for points, but also for confidence. If Real is in a crisis, then what are we?”
The Signal Iduna side have come under immense pressure from fans and critics alike and Peter Bosz has been the under constant criticism. However, despite the clubs form, Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang has scored 17 goals in 19 appearances for the club which takes his total to 96 Bundesliga goals in just 140 games for the club.
This has made both a threat and a target for the top European clubs and has been heavily linked to Real Madrid. However, while Madrid is after the likes of Harry Kane, Antoine Griezmann, and Mauro Icardi, Aubameyang is not far on the shortlist to replace Karim Benzema.
If Madrid do ever come after Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, there is no doubt in anybody’s mind that he will leave the Borussia Dortmund to fulfill his promise. However, if there is one thing he is not is a terrible player and it will be very hard to replace the goals that he has managed to bring in over the last few seasons for the club.
