Jean-Michel Seri is open to moving to the English Premier League putting clubs like Liverpool and Manchester City on high alert
Nice midfielder Jean-Michel Seri is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League with both Liverpool and Manchester City interested. The Ivorian was the subject of intense transfer speculation from none other than Barcelona. Nice reportedly turned down an offer worth £35.2 million from the Catalans. Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain were also interested in pricing the 26-year-old midfielder away. None of the moves materialised however and Seri stayed at Nice. His stay, however, might not be long if recent reports are to be believed.

The Daily Mail claims that Seri is interested in a move to the Premier League. The Ivorian would like to test his talents under the tutelage of either Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp.
Seri missed the start of the season through injury but is fully fit now and back to action for Nice. Liverpool and Manchester City are continuously scouting him ahead of a possible move in January. The Ivorian’s current deal expires in summer 2019 and Nice will be looking to tie him down to a new contract as early as possible.
Among all the clubs interested, Seri would be the most natural fit for Jurgen Klopp’s men. The Reds are quickly sliced open by the simplest of moves from their opponents and the Ivorian being a typical defensive midfielder could be the perfect answer for Liverpool’s defensive problems.
Seri’s failed move to Barcelona did affect him during the summer. But the player himself admitted that he has since moved on. Given the talents that Seri possesses it is imperative that clubs will be circling around him.
If Liverpool does manage to bring in Seri and keep hold of Coutinho, then they will have a truly accomplished midfield. The trio of Phillipe Coutinho, Naby Keita and Jean-Michel Seri can dominate any team in the middle of the pitch. A Manchester City move, on the other hand, might derail his career. He will not be seen as a starter by Guardiola especially while Fernandinho is still going strong.
