The former Chelsea midfielder, Oscar is looking for an opportunity to rejoin Chelsea. He confessed that he would be very happy to return to the Blues if given a chance. He has also given his reasons about his transfer to Shanghai SIPG.
JOURNEY WITH CHELSEA
The 26 years old midfielder joined the Blues by signing a contract of five years for $19 million in July 2012. He made a great start with winning the UEFA Europa League 2012-13 for the club. His further journey with Chelsea brought some pleasant memories like winning Premier League and Football League Cup 2014-15, and again the 2016-17 Premier League. However, the Brazilian moved to the Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG in December 2016 for a transfer of £60 million.
REASON FOR TRANSFER
Revealing about his move to Shanghai SIPG, Oscar told, ‘The first eight games I played very well, then I had a League Cup game that I left and the team lost and changed.’ He continued, ‘Then he [Antonio Conte] changed the team’s way of playing in a 3-4-3 and I did not play anymore, I did not have a position to play because I’m a more offensive midfielder and then changed a lot. So I decided to leave too, but I left the door open.’
In an interview with Copa90, he articulated “When I made my decision to come [to China], I was certainly thinking more of my family than of my career. Because in my career I had other very good offers from big teams in Europe. But I thought a little more of my family, and after that, I can return because I am still young. When I was talking with Shanghai, I was talking to big clubs from Europe, as well. There was Atletico Madrid, who I almost joined. I liked them very much and what they were offering me at the time. There was also Juventus, Inter Milan, and AC Milan. I had some options. But I opted for Shanghai and afterward, I can still return to Europe.”
WANT TO PLAY IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE AGAIN
Oscar is seen in amazing form with Shanghai SIPG. With his eight assists and one goal in just 17 plays, he has got a good start. The Brazilian looked temped about re-joining Chelsea. Oscar told PL Brasil, ‘Yes, I would go back! I’m still young, I’m 26. Who knows in two, three years to return to the Premier League… I would be very happy. And preferably for Chelsea, who opened the doors for me to return.’

Oscar surprised everyone when he decided to make a move to China. Oscar was a key member of both the Chelsea as well as Brazil squad. No doubt the young footballer has got a very bright future ahead. His desire to play again in Premier League will not turn him down. Moreover, Antonio Conte would not give up a chance to have a talented playmaker like him. Still only 26, the playmaker is a Premier League proven and Chelsea who struggles with squad depth will be more than happy to have him back. Oscar had a brawl in China, which saw him being suspended for a while. The Brazilian has a heavy chance to follow his compatriot Paulinho, who also made a return to Europe from China.
