Juventus have joined the race alongside Manchester United to sign Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil.
The Italian champions have decided to battle Manchester United for the services of Ozil. As per reports from Italy, the Bianconeri have started the chase for the Arsenal playmaker’s signature. The 29-year-old will be out of contract in the upcoming summer, however, Mourinho’s men remain the favourites in the pursuit so far.
Jose Mourinho’s men hit the ground running earlier than the Old Lady. The five-time German Player of the Year has entered the final months of his contract. Juventus are hence poised to use a trump card of sorts to lure him to Italy.

Juventus to use Sami Khedira’s influence to sign Ozil?
According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, Juventus has asked Sami Khedira to pursue Ozil into signing with the Serie A giants. The reports further claim that ‘Juventus have followed the German champion for three seasons‘. Both players are known to be good friends off the pitch. They both are of Turkish-German descents and know each other well, since their time together at Real Madrid.
Speaking of Los Blancos, their former coach Jose Mourinho remains a big fan of the midfielder. The Portuguese coach has previously stated that the 29-year-old is among one of the finest No. 10’s in the world.
Both clubs are therefore expected to go to all lengths possible in the chase. The Red Devils have the upper hand, as they can offer Ozil the chance to continue playing in England. Juventus, however, believe Khedira’s influence could give them the edge over United. The Bianconeri are also known to be keeping tabs on Liverpool’s Emre Can.
It’s a matter of time before Ozil’s destination becomes clear, but as for now, he clearly looks unsettled in London. A below par Arsenal team were beaten in emphatic fashion in the FA Cup yesterday by championship outfit Nottingham Forest. Ozil alongside other first-team players was rested for the fixture. However, the way things are unfolding for the Gunners, they look destinated to lose both him and Alexis Sanchez.
Manchester United are clearly leading the chase for Ozil, however, Juventus might have a surprise up their sleeve. However, whether Sami Khedira can sway his compatriot to Italy, remains to be seen. As of now, one thing is clear that Arsene Wenger is going to be under immense pressure to somehow convince Ozil. Sanchez, on the other hand, has made up his mind.
