Premier League giants Liverpool have now placed a £14m price tag on their midfield superstar Joe Allen, with the Welsh international putting in a superb display the Euros in France. The value of all players has been going higher in recent times and the Merseyside club are now demanding a higher fee as well, with the former Swansea City man not impressed with the amount of time that he is getting on the pitch.
The Reds’ domestic rivals Swansea had previously made an £8m offer which was rejected, with the player having just a year left on his current deal with Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The 26 year old superstar, who was once compared to former Spanish international Xavi had moved to Anfield in 2012, during Brendan Rodgers’ time in charge as the Kop boss.
The player has now impressed for Wales once again and has helped his side reach the semi-finals of the competition, where they will face Portugal next.
The former Swansea star is really popular amongst his team-mates, though he has not really been negotiating terms for a contract extension, as confirmed.
On the other hand, the German manager does like the player and was impressed by his performances during the business end of last season, but is unable to give him more playing time due to the likes of Emre Can, James Milner, Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson’s amongst his ranks.
Allen wants regular football and if his demand is not met could be all set to leave the club, in the upcoming days.
