Inter Milan winger Antonio Candreva has been linked heavily with a move to the Premier League and now has admitted that he would welcome the change.
The 30-year-old has been shortlisted by Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho, Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger and even Chelsea’s Antonio Conte as a potential target, but a move has never materialized. But Inter Milan star Antonio Candreva who has been a key star for the San Siro side since his arrival in the summer of 2016, now wants to try his luck elsewhere.
The Italian international has been linked with a move away but while nothing materialized, he now hopes that his situation will change in the coming months. In an interview with Calcio 2000, Candreva went on to say, “I really like the Premier League, as it’s an exceptional competition. I’d love to have a go at playing in the Premier League.
Serie A is showing this season that not only is it always a difficult league, but also now has some very entertaining games. I think Italian teams are improving and can do well in Europe too.”
The 30-year-old is currently helping Inter chase Napoli in the Serie A where the Nerazzurri sit third on the table. However, while Antonio Candreva has struggled this season and has yet to open his account in the 2017/18 season, the Italian international does have eight assists to his name.
Antonio Candreva has struggled for goals this season and is yet to open his account for Inter in the 2017/18 season, but despite that, he still posses exceptional technique and is a definite goal threat both from inside the box and outside the box. Not only that, he has the ability to play as either on the wing or even in a more central role.
“I never felt the pressure of playing at San Siro,” he further added. “We are talking about a crowd that knows its football and has seen world-class players, so naturally it demands a high level of performance. That is why we must be careful to make as few mistakes as possible.”
While Antonio Candreva is not a world class option by any means, the Italian is still a bonafide terror on the right wing. Not to mention, his experience having played for Lazio, Inter Milan, Juventus and even Udinese will give him an added edge over most players in the world.
