It is official now! Premier League giants Manchester United have finally completed the signing of Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with the former Paris Saint-Germain man agreeing a one-year deal. The 34-year-old superstar had decided to leave the Parc des Princes at the end of the previous campaign, which had alerted the Red Devils, who were keen on acquiring his services.
After completing the move, he told the club’s official website, “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester United and looking forward to playing in the Premier League.”
The attacker becomes Jose Mourinho’s second summer signing, after the former Chelsea boss previously signed Villarreal center-back Eric Bailly for a fee of £30m.
Zlatan boasts of a total tally of 392 goals in 677 games, playing for clubs across Europe and has won a trophy in every single season of his career since 2001, including 13 league titles, which is just an amazing record.
In the previous campaign, the attacker scored 50 goals in 51 matches, which broke yet another record for the Ligue 1 champions, netting 38 times in the league(another record).
The player now reunites with his former boss Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, with whom he worked previously at Inter Milan.
Talking about the reunion and playing for the Portuguese main-man, Ibrahimovic added, “I cannot wait to work with Jose Mourinho once again. He is a fantastic manager and I am ready for this new and exciting challenge.”
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my career so far and have some great memories. I am now ready to create more special memories in England.”
Whether or not the world-class striker can leave his mark in England on his arrival and guide the Manchester based side to glory, remains to be seen.
