The entire sports loving community was on its feet today when Usain Bolt ran for the last time in a 100-meter sprint race at the ongoing IAAF World Athletics Championship. The glorious journey came to an end with bolt winning a bronze medal at the event. Sports personalities from around the world sent their good wishes to the legend through social media.

Among all the messages one message that stood out was of Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh. He paid a very interesting tribute to the world’s fastest man on Instagram. He posted a video on Instagram of the race that happened between him and Bolt during a promotional in Bengaluru in 2014.

He wrote, “Looks like I’m the only man on this planet to beat you ever @usainbolt your legacy will forever be unmatched. Go well legend cause you’re #fastestforever #livedareinspire.”

The video is from a promotional event organized by a sports manufacturing brand in 2014 at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. There was an exhibition cricket match in which Team Bolt defeated Team Yuvraj along with an impressive 19-ball 45 runs by the athlete. A 100-meter race was also organized at the event in which the cricketer defeated Usain Bolt.

Virat Kohli was among the many sports persons who gave his good wishes to the legendary athlete. He posted a video message on his twitter handle wishing the athlete ahead of his final race.

 

“Doesn’t matter if it’s your last competitive race, you will always be #ForeverFastest on and off the track @usainbolt.”

Bolt has won 8 Olympic gold medals and 11 World Championship golds. Since 2008, Bolt had not lost a Championship race and has collected 19 gold medals in 22 opportunities at 100, 200 and 4×100 meters sprint races. The only time, before Saturday, he did not win gold was at 2011 Worlds when he was disqualified for a false start. In yesterday’s 100-meter race, Justin Gatlin of USA won the gold medal.
