German Midfielder aims at Jessie Lingard after Arsenal defeated the Red Devils 2-0
The Arsenal midfielder couldn’t help but poke fun at the Manchester United forward on Sunday evening. Mesut Ozil poked fun at Jesse Lingard following Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday and Gunners fans loved it.
The German put in a strong performance for the home side at the Emirates as Arsenal recorded a confident win over their top four rivals. After the match the German Midfielder took to Twitter to thank the Arsenal fans for their support and announce that he is proud to be a Gunner.
But he also aimed a cheeky dig at Red Devils forward Lingard, who isn’t the most well liked man in north London – at least not the red half of it.
Lingard performed the ‘Milly Rock’ dance in celebration of scoring against Arsenal at the Emirates last season. He then performed the Moonwalk when netting in Manchester United’s FA Cup clash in north London earlier this campaign.
After the match Lingard uploaded a picture of his celebration to Instagram and added the location as ‘dancefloor’. Following Arsenal’s win over United in the Premier League on Sunday, Ozil couldn’t resit hitting back at the England international that the Emirates is no longer a dance floor after the hosts handed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the first away defeat of his reign.
The German wrote:
“Dancefloor huh!? Superb performance! Brilliant result! Thank you Emirates Stadium! Proud to be a Gunner!”.
Ozil has faced criticism this season for the number of games he has been unable to play due to fitness issues. However, against United he looked bright and picked out a number of runs to trouble the visitors and their defence.
