The start of the play was delayed for so long. The play resumed at 11:30 AM (IST). The groundsmen did their best to prepare the turf as soon as possible. Meanwhile, fans were totally not pleased with the process.

But what really annoyed the fans was when the groundsmen used vacuum cleaners to dry the wet patches of the surface, particularly at the bowlers’ run-up area. Meanwhile, on-field umpires Nitin Menon and Anil Chaudhary were about the area near the bowlers’ run-up.

“Our main concern is the 30-yard circle and the bowlers’ run-ups,” said Nitin Menon “The conditions will not be 100% because it has rained last two days. But once the sunshine is out, we may get better conditions. Safety is the only thing, the resit is fine,” Anil Chaudhary was quoted saying.
