3 Possible Replacements Jose Mourinho Can Sign To Replace Manchester United Skipper Wayne Rooney In January

Manchester United and England skipper hadn’t had a great recent time and he’s been the point of attack for most media outlets, mostly because of his lethargic performances. He hasn’t been the Rooney of the past, which was dared by every defender in the Premier League. He’s become too slow for his own downfall.

Jose Mourinho when arrived at United said that he sees him as a no. 10, 9 or 9 and a half but not a 6 or a 8. Means he gave him the role that he mostly preferred and everyone thought it could be Wayne Rooney’s revival but with 10 games into the season in all competitions, Rooney’s revival story hasn’t taken off yet, rather Mourinho now has put him on the fringes after his continuous non-impressive displays.

Rooney at this moment has to be pragmatic about his future, he has to accept that he’s not gonna get any bigger and with his wage demands, there’s hardly any big club will flock around to fulfill the demands of a diminishing Wayne Rooney. If he wants his future sorted, either he has to take a little cut in his wages and accept a limited role at United or take a leave and go to MLS or some fancy league where his wage demands could be met just for his star status and that too without raising many questions on his game.

But Manchester United may have to be ready to replace one of their biggest stars of the modern era and we look at the 3 able replacements for Wayne Rooney.

1. Gareth Bale

The Welshman was really close to joining the Red Devils when Moyes took over the reins from Sir Alex and the former Everton man really wanted Bale at United but he had his reservations against joining them and the Real Madrid came calling.

In his 3 years at Madrid, Bale has won 2 Champions leagues and has lived up up the expectations even when he had to live in Cristiano Ronaldo’s shadows. He’s one the top 10 players in world football and has the capability to turn the game on it’s head.

His goalscoring and assists record is also phenomenal and has the age by his side. United broke the transfer fee paid by Real Madrid for him by signing Paul Pogba and if they have to get the Welshman then they’ll have to break that record again. Gareth Bale, who is a great admirer of United legend, Ryan Giggs and would love to join Mourinho and the beginning of a new era at the great English club.
