MS Dhoni surprised everyone by stepping down as captain just days ahead of the start of the IPL 2022 season. Ravindra Jadeja took charge as captain but failed to bring the best out of his teammates.
Under his captaincy, CSK won two games but lost rest of the six games. After that, he handed over the captaincy to MS Dhoni. It is not sure whether MS Dhoni would lead CSK.

1. Kane Williamson
Kane is currently leading Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing edition. In case SRH fail to qualify for the playoffs, there are chances that SRH may release Kane.
CSK should look to sign Kane Williamson as he is one of the terrific captains in the present era. His cool and calm personality similar to MS Dhoni would perfectly suit CSK.
2. Ben Stokes
England international Ben Stokes made the headlines when he became the Test captain of the England cricket team. Moreover, he has played with MS Dhoni in the past for Rising Pune Supergiants.
There are possibilities of him becoming the next captain of CSK. He is also a terrific all-rounder and can tick the boxes of batting, bowling and fielding respectively.
3. Joe Root
Joe Root has never been a part of the Indian Premier League. However, he has earlier expressed his interest to feature in the cash-rich IPL. It would be great if Joe Root registers himself for IPL in the future.
4. Temba Bavuma
South African batsman Temba Bavuma has recently impressed the cricket fraternity with his incredible captaincy. Under his captaincy, South Africa whitewashed India in the three-match ODI series. If CSK wishes to go for a wildcard pick in terms of captaincy, then they can go for Temba Bavuma.
