4 players from Mumbai Team tested positive before the start of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

In shocking news, as many as four members of the Mumbai cricket team tested positive for a novel coronavirus epidemic. In the wake of this shocking development, this has created a panic in the dressing room ahead of the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament.

The tournament will kick off on November 4. Meanwhile, the replacements have been made as well. A reliable source revealed the names of the four players who contracted the virus infection.

They are none other than all-rounder Shams Mulani, middle-order batsman Sarfaraz Khan, leg spinner Prashant Solanki, and medium-fast bowler Sairaj Patil.

“Four players from the senior team have tested positive, they are Shams Mulani, Sairaj Patil, Prashant Solanki and Sarfaraz Khan,” a well-placed source told PTI on condition of anonymity.

On the other hand, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has made replacements for the four infected players. According to the state association, the names will be announced soon.

“We are conducting Rapid RT-PCR (of the players named as replacements). Their reports will come soon and accordingly they will join the team. We are also conducting the RT-PCR test of the other squad members,” the source added.

Ajinkya Rahane-led team are placed in Elite Group B. They will play their league games of the domestic T20 tournament in Guwahati from November 4. The tournament will come to an end on November 22.

They will kick off their journey against Karnataka. The names of the replacements have not been announced yet. Fans are waiting for the official update from the MCA.
