With just 10 days left before this year’s Ballon d’Or ceremony, here is why we think Cristiano Ronaldo should win the award for record sixth time.
The Portuguese has had one hell of 2018. After winning the Champions League for the third consecutive time, Ronaldo joined Juventus in a shocking move but still continued to be the beast in front of the goal. With his performances in Italy, the attacker has proved that he can score goals for any team against any opposition in any league.
So here are five reasons why Cristiano Ronaldo should win 2018 Ballon d’Or:
5. More of a team player than before:
Cristiano Ronaldo was all about goals at Real Madrid. The Portuguese scored goals for fun and eventually finished with more goals than matches played. But that is not the case at Juventus. Even at the age of 33, Ronaldo looks like a completely new player at the Turin-based club.
The Portuguese can be seen playing on the wings, in front of the goal and occasionally, even in the midfield to create opportunities. It is like he has been at Juventus since childhood and wants the club to win at any cost. Many players have even commented on how Ronaldo motivates then on and off the field to perform better. It is like he a captain without an armband.
But hey, emotions don’t win you awards, stats do. Ronaldo, who had five assists in the league with Real Madrid last seasons has already matched that tally in just 12 games. Numbers do not lie!
