AC Milan News: The Rossoneri Are Already Looking To Get Rid of Divock Origi

AC Milan News: After signing Divock Origi, a former Liverpool player, a few months ago, the Rossoneri are apparently searching for fresh forwards.

After his contract with Liverpool expired in July, Origi joined Milan on a free transfer. The Belgian international signed a four-year deal with the Italian powerhouses after making 175 appearances and scored 41 goals during an eight-year stint with the Reds.

The 27-year-old enjoyed a good reputation at Anfield for often showing up during crucial moments to score vital goals.

He not only scored six goals in 12 games against Everton’s rivals, but he also scored two in Liverpool’s historic 4-0 victory over Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final in 2019 and added a second goal against Tottenham in the subsequent final.

While for Salzburg, Okafor has six goals and two assists in all competitions. The 22-year-old international from Switzerland, who has previously been associated with Leeds United, is reputedly worth £25 million.

After a slow start to the season, Origi was recently dubbed the “worst signing of the season” in Serie A.

This season, Milan manager Stefano Pioli has chosen to start former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud with newcomer Charles De Ketelaere. Milan has won four and drawn two of its first six games, placing third in Serie A.

What did Pioli say?

Due to persisting injury issues, Origi was not included in Milan’s lineup for their 2-1 victory over Sampdoria over the weekend.

He’s a good player, but he didn’t feel well at the end of the training session, which is sad, said, Pioli. It was preferable to avoid taking a chance because the muscle was toughening up.

Wednesday night’s Champions League match between Milan and Dinamo Zagreb will take place without Origi.

Given that Origi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are both receiving medical attention, Giroud will continue to lead the assault.

On Tuesday, Pioli added, “Olivier can play every game, and I have many other players who can also play in that position. Sorry, but I’m not concerned about Origi’s injury. We really wanted him, so I’m hoping we’ll get him back after the [international] break.”
