The strike bowler for the team was dropped ahead of the first T20I quite shockingly despite having his name in the 12 member squad.

The one dayers and the test cricket matches are finally over in the ongoing Indo-Windies series. Both the formats saw the unparalleled dominance of the hosts with the visitors surrendering themselves without much of a struggle. Both the batsmen and the bowlers were equally instrumental in the outcome of such a result.

The right arm medium pacer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar only got to feature in the last 3 ODIs due to stiff competition from the other bowlers. The men in blue are currently playing the shortest format of the game against the Carribbeans and the squads for the same had been announced which contained this bowler as well.

However a last minute change was seen on the eve of the first T20I quite unexpectedly. Bhuvneshwar Kumar who has been in decent form lately was dropped from the squad. On the other hand, Umesh Yadav was announced as the substitute of this dropped speedster. The fans were taken aback by such a news at injury time.

However the major reason has been out in the open and things wrongly interpreted have been cleared out.
Bhuvneshwar was not able to leave the hotel along with the other players owing to a gastric problem. The problem although not that grave, made him unable to play the first match of the fixture in Kolkata. BCCI media manager relieved all the fans by saying  that he would however join the team for the remaining matches as he would have been cured by then.

“Bhuvneshwar Kumar has a gastric complaint and is expected to be fit for the second T20I in Lucknow (on November 6).”

Considering the ongoing form of the men in blue, they are undoubtedly the favourites in the T20I series, however the Carribbeans are known to upset the analytics in the shortest format of the game, the one which is highly uncertain.

They have already provided glimpses of their hidden potentials in the 3rd and 4th ODIs as well. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s presence would surely be felt as he is quite handy with the ball because of his “swinging with the new ball” abilities. However, the good news is that we could be able to see the player in the next match in action.
