Has Hazard decided to stay at Chelsea or move on to Spanish giants?
The 28-year-old Belgian attacker Hazard has been plying his trade at Stamford Bridge for 6-and-a-half years now, having made the move to the English capital from Ligue 1 outfit Lille in 2012.
The future of Eden Hazard will be a talking for the rest of the season. The Chelsea star has openly admitted that it would be a “dream” to play for Real Madrid, with Los Blancos reportedly keen on signing him again this summer. Madrid were linked with a move last summer, but Hazard stayed put.
Speculation over the Belgian’s future was ramped up this week when Hazard admitted that he had “made a decision” over his future in an interview with French radio station RMC.
He said: “I know what I am going to do. I have made my decision.”
And his former teammate Cesc Fabregas believes that decision will be to stay at Stamford Bridge. Speaking to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser , the former Arsenal and Chelsea man said:
“I think he’s going to extend his contract with Chelsea. He’s a loyal player. He told me he would never fight with Chelsea to leave. This is his club, he has won so much in England. This is just what I think, but I know him well. If he has made a decision, it would never be to let the club down in the middle of the season, he would not do that.
He likes Madrid. That is not a secret. But he is happy at Chelsea and in London. He is a star player and he is a team captain.
He is 28 now so it is a very important decision and it will be a very personal one.”
Chelsea have thus far rejected any and all offers that have come their way for the club’s star man, but Real, have seemingly not been deterred by the stubbornness of the Blues. Also Hazard is having great time at Chelsea and it will entirety be his decision to leave the club.
