Andres Iniesta has been loving football in Japan with J League outfit Vissel Kobe since signing for them a few years ago. He has now spoken about former recruits Barcelona.
Andres Iniesta ended his illustrious career at Barcelona that spanned for a duration of more than a decade earlier this year. The former Spain international pulled down the curtains to his time in Catalonia following victory in La Liga and Copa del Rey in the 2017/18 season.
One of the world’s greatest midfielders to have ever graced the footballing soil has left a void in European football that is profoundly being missed by every day and by every fan of the sport. Currently on the books of J League club Vissel Kobe, Iniesta expressed his admiration for Barcelona and stated that he does dream of returning one day.
Asked about a return to Barca, he said: “It would be good to return to Barca but if I come back, it will be because I have the capacity for what I want to do, not for my name…”
Ever since Barcelona and Andres Iniesta crossed each other’s path when the midfielder was of a very young age, it seemed like a match made in heaven. Iniesta, 34 years old now, is enjoying football in Japan but it looks very unlikely that he will come to Barcelona as a player now. He might call it a day from football within the next two or three years and associate himself with the Catalans soon after.
