Another Premier League superstar to join Real Madrid along with Eden Hazard?

Los Blancos are reportedly looking to raid the London-based club in the summer transfer window as Zinedine Zidane wants these two players in his squad.

The Frenchman returned to Real Madrid mere ten months after he stepped down as the team’s manager. This time, Zidane returned with Los Blancos in a much difficult situation than ever before and as a result of it, Florentino Perez has reportedly given his manager a lot of freedom in the transfer business.

Zidane in Control:

Zizou is eager to rebuild the team for the next season and the reports in the Evening Standard suggest that Real Madrid are looking to steal away Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante from Chelsea. The Belgium has been linked with Los Blancos for some time now and has even expressed his desire to join them in the near future. But N’Golo Kante’s name comes as a surprise.

The World Cup winner is one of the best defensive midfielders right now and signed a 5-year contract worth £290,000-a-week in November. But Real Madrid will hope to use the fact that Maurizio Sarri has played Kante in the more advanced role this season in their favour. The Frenchman was rumoured to leave Chelsea last season as well, that time for PSG, but ended up staying at the club.

Eden Hazard’s case is much different than N’Golo Kante as the Belgian considers Real Madrid as his dream move. Reports from Goal also suggest that the Spaniards have made the first contact for the winger after Zidane’s arrival with the price tag of £100m. With Hazard’s contract expiring in 2020, it will be interesting to see what Chelsea decide to do in the summer.

And what makes the situation even more difficult for Chelsea is their transfer ban of two transfer windows. The Blues will be unable to sign any players for the next two transfer windows which means they will be unable to sign Hazard and Kante’s replacements if the duo leave in the summer.

Chelsea will face Everton on Sunday in the Premier League as their fight for the top-four continues. The Blues will then face Dynamo Kyiv in the second leg of Round of 16 in the Europa League, with 3-goal advantage form the first leg.

Real Madrid on the other hand, are out of the Champions League after Ajax beat them 4-1 in the second leg of the Round of 16. Zidane will face Celta Vigo in La Liga on Saturday in the first game of his second stint with the club.

Author’s Take:

The situation is very different for both player. Eden Hazard’s transfer will depend on what the player wants. If Hazard wants to leave, Chelsea will try to make some money from that instead of losing him for free in 2020. But the Blues will hope that he decides to stay during Chelsea’s transfer ban.

N’Golo Kante is crucial for Chelsea even if he is playing out of position under Sarri. And even without the transfer ban, Chelsea won’t find a player of the same calibre to replace the Frenchman. So Real Madrid’s hopes of landing Kante look very bleak at the moment.
