Antoine Griezmann has been one of Europe’s best performing players and is drawing interest from every top club in Europe. Manchester United have been one of Frenchman’s greatest admirers and have been long interested to land the player at Old Trafford.
Manchester United hierarchy sees the 25 years old Frenchman as a replacement for their aging and fading skipper, Wayne Rooney.
The Frenchman in his recent interview on his International duty for French National Team hinted that he could also be interested in a move to Old Trafford in the near future, the Frenchman who is great friends with his national teammate and Manchester United star midfielder Paul Pogba on talking to Sky Sports News HQ, said: “I always ask Paul Pogba about Manchester United. I think they are a huge club with a really good infrastructure.
“I ask Paul about some of the players, and if they’re really that good, or if Jose Mourinho is really that good.
“You hear a lot of things [speculation] about Manchester United and Paris St-Germain but right now I don’t see me moving to a new club.
“But It would be awesome to play alongside Paul one day.”
He also added, “A future transfer depends on how I feel. Right now, I’m a father and moving to another city would not be the right thing.
“I’ll see If want to do something else in the future, but right now I’m very happy with Atletico Madrid and I still want to win trophies with this club.”
This could well be a huge hint anr will give a major boost to United’s pursuit of the 25 years old, Atletico Madrid talisman.
Griezmann has been in top form for Atletico Madrid this season with 5 goals and 8 assists in 13 games in all competitions so far this season. He was the Player of the Tournament in the recently ended Euros 2016 and was one of the major forces behind French National team’s road to the finals only to be defeated by the pragmatic Portugese side.
Atletico Madrid value the Frenchman at £80m and if Manchester United are to get their man they might well have to break the world record for the transfer fee being paid that they set to get Paul Pogba back at Old Trafford.
With the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City also interested in the player, his desire to play alongside Pogba could give the Old Trafford outfit an edge in their pursuit for the sensational Frenchman.
