Antonio Conte to stay at Chelsea

Chelsea boss has finally signed a two-year improved deal with the league champions.

Antonio Conte has put an end to the speculation regarding his move to Italy this season by signing a new 2-year deal worth £20million with the Blues.

The new deal does not extend the time of the contract and is rather an improvement in the contract and so Conte is now to stay till 2018-19.

The former Juventus coach helped the Blues in winning the Premier league after when they had a pretty worse previous season finishing in 10th position.

Conte lifted the Premier League title in his first season at Stamford Bridge and is now the favourite of the club and its supporters. He also helped the league giants in reaching the finals of FA cup.

The Chelsea boss told to Chelsea’s website- “I am very happy to have signed a new contract with Chelsea.”

“We worked extremely hard in our first year to achieve something amazing, which I am very proud of. Now we must work even harder to stay at the top.”

“The Chelsea fans have given me so much support since I arrived here one year ago and it is important we continue to succeed together.”

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said in a statement- “This new contract reflects our belief that he can continue to deliver results both domestically and as we return to European competition in the Champions League.”

“Since arriving in west London, the 47-year-old Italian’s passion, tactical acumen, and winning mentality have endeared him to Chelsea supporters all over the world and we look forward to furthering triumphs with Antonio at the helm.”

After a successful previous season with the Blues, this season Conte will have burden on his shoulders to not only win the Premier league but also to prepare for the Champions League.

He has already signed hefty transfers, with the signing of Antonio Rudiger and Bakoyoko. Since the Chelsea boss has been back in West London, he is working on signing better quality players and is now currently looking for a player to fill in the place of Diego Costa.

Only time will tell whether the league leaders will be able to retain their title or not!
