Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is open to depart the club in the January transfer window only if Arsenal agrees to pay his remaining wages for over two years. Ozil wanted to stay at the club and watch his contract fetting expire at the end of the season.
However, reports have emerged that the former German international is happy to leave the Gunners if Arsenal continues to cover his wages for the next two years. As a result, Ozil has strike a deal to get his £350,000-a-week wages paid in the next two years.
As Arsenal is desperate to offload the midfielder before his contract expires in June and also free themselves from the heavy-duty of Ozil’s weekly wages who is only contributing to the squad by being on the sidelines since the start of the campaign.
Earlier in the Summer Arsenal hierarchy was keen to offload the German midfielder. However, a number of clubs were hesitant because of Ozil’s lucrative weekly wages paid by Arsenal. Moreover, the midfielder insisted on being happy and was himself keen to see out his million-dollar contract at Emirates at the end of this campaign.

If the two reach an agreement proposed by the midfielder then it would be a chance for Arsenal to say goodbye to Ozil in the underway transfer window. Mikel Arteta has stated that the club will make the progress over the deadlock in the coming days.
Speaking ahead of the situation Arteta said that Ozil is free to negotiate with other clubs and the club will decide in the coming few days. However, it is difficult to say what will happen. The club would discuss internally with the agent and the player and spot the best solution for him and for everyone.
