Arsenal £350,000-a-week star is open to depart the club in January if Gunners agrees to a condition

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is open to depart the club in the January transfer window only if Arsenal agrees to pay his remaining wages for over two years. Ozil wanted to stay at the club and watch his contract fetting expire at the end of the season.

However, reports have emerged that the former German international is happy to leave the Gunners if Arsenal continues to cover his wages for the next two years. As a result, Ozil has strike a deal to get his £350,000-a-week wages paid in the next two years.

As Arsenal is desperate to offload the midfielder before his contract expires in June and also free themselves from the heavy-duty of Ozil’s weekly wages who is only contributing to the squad by being on the sidelines since the start of the campaign.

Earlier in the Summer Arsenal hierarchy was keen to offload the German midfielder. However, a number of clubs were hesitant because of Ozil’s lucrative weekly wages paid by Arsenal. Moreover, the midfielder insisted on being happy and was himself keen to see out his million-dollar contract at Emirates at the end of this campaign.

Mikel Arteta addresses Arsenal stance on Mesut Ozil future ahead of the transfer window

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta claimed that he will look after Ozil’s situation at the end of the January transfer window. Also, the coach gives footballing reasons behind Ozil’s omission. Arsenal has excluded Mesut Ozil from both the Premier League and Europa League squad.

Arsenal number 10 has fallen down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta since March. The rumors are also linking Ozil with a move to Turkish club Fenerbahce and Major League Soccer side DC United. In case, Ozil decides to stay at the club until June then he would only earn £7.2m.

Ozil offered the spreading of his payment till 2023

But it is well understood that Ozil wouldn’t leave Arsenal for anything less than what he owes to the club. To save himself from the loss And according to The Sun

, Ozil is ready to cut his huge contract at Arsenal early. But only on the condition that Arsenal will pay him £68,000-a-week until the summer of 2023.

Meanwhile, there are reports from Turkey claim that the club is involved in the agreement initiated by the midfielder over the remaining wages. Arsenal in turn is looking to make a suitable compromise as the club is aware of Ozil’s stance and would take note of any loss.

If the two reach an agreement proposed by the midfielder then it would be a chance for Arsenal to say goodbye to Ozil in the underway transfer window. Mikel Arteta has stated that the club will make the progress over the deadlock in the coming days.

Speaking ahead of the situation Arteta said that Ozil is free to negotiate with other clubs and the club will decide in the coming few days. However, it is difficult to say what will happen. The club would discuss internally with the agent and the player and spot the best solution for him and for everyone.

Whatever result would come out in the coming days. Arsenal would bid a farewell to the star midfielder who has recorded over 77 assists in the Premier League after joining Arsenal in a record club signing of £42.5million in 2013. Ozil has played 254 for Arsenal and recorded 77 goals under his name.

Another Arsene Wenger signing would be off the squad either in January or at the end of the summer. Mesut Ozil has contributed a lot in FA cup triumphs however couldn’t feature in their latest win over Newcastle United which could have been his last FA cup clash for Arsenal.
