The top Premier League clubs are quite busy in the ongoing winter transfer window. The clubs must have figured out their weaknesses and voids by now and would be looking to bolster the respective departments by making use of this transfer window.
While Arsenal are in search of a creative midfielder, Liverpool are looking for a defender after Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Matip’s absence in their squad. As per the reports, Liverpool was told to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
Case in point, Arsenal, and Chelsea have expressed their interest to rope in Turkish talented teenager Ali Akman as per The Daily Mail. Ali Akman who plies his trade as a striker at Bursaspor has set Turkish Super Lig on fire with splendid performances.
The 18-year-old has a lot of potentials to become the next big thing in football. His contract comes to a close in the next summer, which means that he could either join a new club as a free agent after the end of his contract or he could be auctioned in the transfer window.
Chelsea and Arsenal FC are interested in Ali Akman

Bursaspor wouldn’t let their star kid move to another club as a free agent as they will look to make use of this opportunity to sell him. As things stand, Chelsea and Arsenal are known to be keeping a tab on him.
Even other European clubs are said to be Ali Akman’s suitors. The Turkey U21 international striker has netted 9 goals and 3 assists in 16 match appearances this season. After having contributed to 12 goals, he became a sensation within a quick span of time.
The youngster’s on-field performances drew the attention of two London clubs namely Arsenal and Chelsea FC. Even RB Salzburg and Galatasaray both reportedly attempted to sign the striker in December.
It is to be noted that Akman has six more months left on his contract. He looks set to leave the Turkish Super Lig side, but Bursaspor would reportedly be selling him in this window for as little as £3m.
What’s next for Arsenal and Chelsea?
Arsenal are marching with confidence ever since their 1-4 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup quarter-final clash. Since then, they have gone on to win 4 games across all competitions this season.
The Gunners registered a 2-0 win over Newcastle United at home as Emile Smith Rowe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted a goal each in the FA Cup 3rd Round fixture. Arsenal will lock horns with Crystal Palace in a Premier League fixture at The Emirates on January 15.
On the other hand, Chelsea are lacking confidence at the moment. They are just 3 points above their rivals Arsenal. They lost to Arsenal by 3-1 at the Emirates and drew 1-1 to Aston Villa.
After that, they lost to Manchester City by 3-1 at Stamford Bridge. The Blues will be looking forward to turning things around in the English Premier League when they take on Fulham in the next game on January 16.
