Arsenal has very closely missed out on two summer signings in the transfer window. The domestic as well international transfer window has shut down earlier this month. Although, Mikel Arteta tried hard to give his best in building up the strongest of the line-up. He missed out closely on the two most discussed signing of Barcelona ace Philippe Coutinho and Lyon star Houssem Aouar.

The North London based club had a successful summer transfer window bringing in the likes of Willian, Gabriel Magalhaes, along Thomas Partey. Moreover, Arsenal bought in a pretty good number of players even though the club was facing serious financial restrictions. However, it seems Arsenal has turned their head towards the January window opening.

But Arsenal’s boss is more likely to bring a few more signings in January. As the senior official still believe that a few areas of the squad require more strength than others. There could be possible arrivals along with possible departures of faces most discussed during summer. But have failed to make an exit due to various reasons.

Intetest in Houssem Aouar continues

Premier League clubs tussle with each other for Ligue 1 starlet

Arsenal is probably denying to dismiss their interest in the Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar. The transfer rumors took a halt only when Arsenal landed Thomas Partey and ran out of any financial aid. Overall the Gunners failed to land another most talked midfielder before the window closed.

Aouar remains Arsenal eminent target even though the club has Party with them. They will initiate the move for the French midfielder again in January. Looking towards his stunning run in last season’s Champions League semi-final. Arsenal will bring Lyon to the negotiating table once again.

Countinho’s Arsenal move was ‘very close’

During the last transfer window, there were rumors that Arsenal is one of the clubs who want to sign Philippe Coutinho. The rumors have been verified as well by stating that Arsenal was much ahead in the race.

Italian transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has declared that Arsenal was leading the race while Tottenham being behind the Gunners. The club was eager to land former Liverpool star who spent a season-long spell on loan at Bayern Munich before moving back to Barcelona.

Fabrizio Romano told the Blood Red podcast, as per the Liverpool Echo: That Coutinho’s agent started working in order to offer him to Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur. This happened before Barcelona agreed to put him on the list to sell.

He also added that it was Arsenal who was so close to signing Coutinho in early August. But the arrival of Koeman made him realize the difficulty in signing other players.

Ozil’s agent gets a response

Ozil’s agent slammed Mikel Arte ta on how he has handled Mesut Ozil’s situation. Dr. Ergut Sogut in an interview with ESPN criticized Arteta. Arsenal’s boss in turn has given a response in an interview while talking to reporters as per the Mirror.

Arteta said when things happen, they are applauded and when they failed, there come to the consequences. Then a culture is formed where people are held accountable. He also said that their a certain standard of Arsenal and people have to step up in order to be successful.
