Ligue 1 giants Lyon have now had talks with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, informing the Frenchman that if he wishes to sign center-forward Alexandre Lacazette, their centre forward, Arsenal must pay a fee of £42m for their target. There Gunners had already made contact with the France international’s representatives some time ago, after their attempts to sign their other top targets failed.

The Premier League giants had previously offered an amount of about £34m to sign the 25 year old forward, though the French outfit did not consider it to be enough and dismissed the bid back then.

The Mail Online further added that the player is said to be happy in his native country and has no intention of pushing through a move to England, unless something really interesting comes up.

Apart from the north London outfit, their domestic rivals Spurs, West Ham United and La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have been chasing the player for quite some time now, with the hopes of adding him to their squad this summer.

Lyon might be waiting for an intense race between the clubs to sign the player and could eventually sell him to the side that pays them the most.

However, Wenger might not want to pay the asking fee for his compatriot and could possibly look at the other options that he could bring to the Emirates, which might force him to either side Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata or even Wolfsburg attacker Julian Draxler.

It will be interesting to see what happens next, as Arsenal look to strengthen their attack prior to the start of the new season.
