Arsenal are in shambles at the moment. Nothing seems to be working for them. Mikel Arteta who won two trophies at Arsenal is figuring out ways to bring the club back to the original position. They are languishing at the worst position in the points table.
Having played 14 games, they managed to secure 14 points. This is their worst ever start to their Premier League campaign since 1974/75 season. Currently, they are 15th at the points table and just 4 points above the relegation zone.
The Gunners are down on confidence levels and Arteta knows exactly what needs to be done to restore pride. While fans are unhappy with Arteta’s philosophy at the moment, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola backed his former assistant.
Guardiola clarified that there is no better manager than Arteta who can manage Arsenal Football Club. With so many games coming up, the Gunners find themselves in a muddle. A win in the next game would surely boost their confidence levels.
Pundits and former Arsenal players have earlier explained that the club is still in the transition stage. A club like Arsenal will always face pressure when they don’t win games. However, a change is something that wouldn’t happen overnight. It will take time and fans just need to trust the process.
Arteta has 3 games to save his job at Arsenal: Groves
Their form in Europa League is worth applauding as they won all 6 games in the group stage. They are also the only club to win all the games. However, the Gunners are on a terrible run of form under Arteta in the Premier League.
They managed to win just 1 game out of their last 10 appearances. Their last victory came against Manchester United at Old Trafford back on November 1. The Gunners already lost 8 league games by far which is also their dreadful start to the league in 46 years.
Meanwhile, former Arsenal winger Perry Groves believes that Arteta’s days are numbered at Arsenal. According to the former player, Arteta has just 3 games to save his job at the club.
Groves doesn’t see there is anything good happening at Arsenal under Arteta. The former winger also cannot see Arteta at the helm if he fails to get good results this week.
Arteta’s boys take on Lampard’s team
Arsenal will invite their arch-rivals, Chelsea, on Boxing Day. Chelsea are in pretty good shape this season. They are 5th in the points table with 25 points.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard managed to instill confidence in his young players and the results are coming in favor of them. The Blues won 7 games, played out 4 draws, and lost 3 games. Their most recent victory came against the Hammers as they secured a 3-0 win.
Tammy Abraham scored a brace while Thiago Silva scored a goal. Arsenal’s recent defeat came at Goodison Park where they lost 3-2 to Everton. It will be quite interesting to see how Arsenal respond to this crisis on December 26.
