Arsenal desperate to sign Real Madrid star, will a deal happen now?

Arsenal are looking to bring in out of favour Lucas Vazquez from Real Madrid as early as this month

A report from Spanish newspaper Don Balon now suggests that north London giants Arsenal are looking to sign Real Madrid star Lucas Vazquez, in the current transfer window. After getting knocked out of the FA Cup, with a shocking defeat to Nottingham Forrest, the Gunners will now surely want to add more stars to their squad, as they look to strengthen it. Manager Arsene Wenger had a frustrating evening as he sat in the stands and watched his team get knocked out of the competition, that they have won more than any other team in its history.

The Londoners are in need of more attack-minded options, with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil said to be on their way out of the club, at the end of the current campaign, after they refused to sign a new deal.

The star has not been given much playing time under Zinedine Zidane, due to which he has been unhappy and Wenger is looking to take advantage of this situation and take him away from the Bernabeu.

He is still 26 and can play on the wings, a void that the French manager will have to fill soon, once his top stars do indeed leave the Emirates.

The former Espanyol loanee is being considered a direct replacement for the Chilean international and his skills and quick play have really impressed the Arsenal boss.

The north London side will look to make a bid for his services in January, with the hopes of bringing him to England. However, the final decision will surely be his and whether or not, he is tempted by the chance to be a key star in another team, in the top flight of English football.

With 7 goals in 71 appearances for Los Blancos, since making the first team debut back in 2015, it seems that the player can really come in handy for Arsenal, once Sanchez does leave for Manchester City. Wenger has tried his best to retain the services of his top stars and failed and it seems that the best option is now to bring in alternative options, who can boost his side’s chances of winning titles in the years to come.
