Arsenal has begun initial talks with star midfielder Aaron Ramsey about possibly extending his contract with the Gunners.
The Welshman has been absolutely underrated for the Gunners this season and has bee exceptional going forward and defensively. However, while Mesut Ozil has five assists after a burst of form, Aaron Ramsey already has six assists and has also added three crucial goals to his name. Ever since Arsene Wenger changed his formation to the Antonio Conte special three at the back, it has allowed the Gunners to make the most of the 26-year-old.
However now according to reports from the Daily Telegraph, the Gunners see other than Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, Petr Cech, Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey’s contracts all ending in 2019. This means that the club could potentially face an absolute exodus, and need to act immediately.
Especially on Aaron Ramsey, as the Welshman has been one of Arsenal’s top players over the years, and while injuries have haunted him over the years, he ended last season on a high. The Welsh star scored the winning goal in the FA Cup Final and has continued impressing even in the current season. But it was the change in the formation that led to everything, which has allowed Ramsey more room to run about the pitch and play in his preferred central midfield role.
Furthermore, with the Gunners linked with a potential move for Leon Goretzka things could get complicated for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger. The German international is like, Aaron Ramsey another box-to-box midfielder and thus won’t be able to fit in Wenger’s formation with the Welshman.

Arsene Wenger, however, has always been a massive fan of the former Cardiff City man and said in an interview after the Burnley game, “He is an excellent player and very important for us. Let’s hope he can continue that run because he is a guy who drives the team forward in a relentless way.
He can go from the first to the last minute and has the engine to do both sides of the game and that is what we want. He can defend well and attack well, he can go in the box and that is why he got the penalty on Sunday because he was in the situation where he could provoke that.”
Losing someone like Aaron Ramsey, especially with both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil refusing to sign new deals would be a big blow. The Welshman is easily Arsenal’s most multifaceted player, and while is adept as an orthodox role in the midfield, he’s more than capable of pushing forward in support. However, while he’s not the most flamboyant of players, Aaron Ramsey is still a vital player for Arsenal.
