The Gunners began this Premier League season by losing to Liverpool at home while drawing to Leicester away. 2 wins out of 2 in the next games got Arsene Wenger’s side back on track. Arsenal scored a late winner to seal the win against Southampton, thanks to Santi Cazorla netting the penalty.
It is being reported that Premier League club Arsenal is looking to seal the services of attacking duo, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, by extending the contracts of the duo, according to reports in The Mirror.
Arsenal’s poor start to the season was boosted by the signings of Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez and will further improve their chances of winning the Premier League by extending the contracts of Sanchez and Ozil.
Chile international, Sanchez and German international Ozil, are two of Wenger’s essential players as he spent big cash on the two stars. Ozil joined the Gunners back in 2013 from Real Madrid while Sanchez signed a year later from Real Madrid’s rivals, FC Barcelona.
In spite of having a number of years left in their contract at Arsenal, the club has been insisting on extending the stays of the pair at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners are willing to avoid a situation where they would sell either of the two as they are important parts of Arsene Wenger’s team.
If the reports are to be believed, the London club is keen on increasing the wages of the superstars while also extending the stay of both the stars.
German international, Ozil topped the Premier League 2015-16 assist charts, dishing 19 assists, while Sanchez is one of the best attackers in England when he is in form.
