Arsenal fans respond on Twitter to their ex-player who joined Watford this season. He scored his first goal for Watford.
Danny Welbeck left Arsenal this campaign to join fellow Premier League side, Watford. Arsenal fans on Twitter are thrilled that Danny Welbeck scored his first goal for Watford. The goal was scored on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup. The 28-year-old was freed by Arsenal in the summer after copious injuries putrefied his career at the Emirates Stadium. Thus, he made the transfer to Vicarage Road in order to get his profession back on track. However, on Tuesday night, he netted his first goal for the Hornets. Subsequently, he helped out-of-form Watford beat Championship side Swansea City 2-1 on home ground.
Whilst Welbeck was scoring them in for his new club, his former club was dispatching Nottingham Forest 5-0. That too, not far from Vicarage Road, as they could possibly meet in the next round. Nevertheless, they were charmed to see him off the mark at his new club. Mostly because it did not finish well for Danny Welbeck at the Emirates because of those injuries. But, he is still well recognized for what he did for the club. Watford has suffered a number of mediocre accomplishments this season. With Javi Gracia being dismissed during the international break and succeeded by Quique Sanchez Flores.
Although, a week ago, they came back from two goals down to register a draw against Arsenal in the Premier League. Sadly for them, they were well and truly thrashed by Manchester City at the weekend. They lost 8-0 to the defending Champions of England.
What did a few of those Tweets read?
Although Welbeck did not play in any of those aforementioned matches, he is back now. He also started scoring and Watford fans will be gratified to see him on the pitch. As a matter of fact, fans of his former club are also pleased that he is digging himself once again. One thing we know for certain is how frequent as well as fluent Arsenal fans are on Twitter.
A tweet by OmrRamli read: ” Oh my! Danny Welbeck was on bench and injuries for so long didn’t realize that he’s in Watford now. Though he still in arsenal tho.”
Another Arsenal fan expressed his joy over the past weekend stating “Welbeck and Santi scoring. Iwobi assist. Spuds knocked out. Tierney and Bellerin back. Saka and Martinelli impressive. Chambers monstrous! Love it.”
They were quick to make some memes about it too, with an Arsenal fan photoshopping a picture of Welbeck over Pele. We would certainly be wishing that the former Manchester United and Arsenal man be fit. In his Manchester United days, he used to be a sterling player. If he can come anywhere even close to that, he could save Watford’s season. Unfortunately, they are currently at the 20th position in the league table. Having won none of their previous 5 league matches, Watford would certainly be looking to improve their current run of form.
