Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze is currently on the radar of several top European clubs. The Nigeria international has been a consistent performer for Villarreal since breaking into their first team during the 2018-19 season.
He has played 178 games (in all competitions) for the Yellow Submarine so far, registering 29 goals and 26 assists. Chukwueze helped Villarreal lift the UEFA Europa League trophy during the 2020-21 season.
The 23-year-old winger won the Bronze Boot during the 2015’s FIFA U-17 World Cup and was also named the DFA Most Influential Player of the Year in 2016.
According to Fichajes (via Sportskeeda), Arsenal are interested in signing Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze.
The Gunners have started the current season brilliantly and are currently at the top of the Premier League table. They have collected 37 points from 14 PL games. However, Mikel Arteta is still looking to add a new winger to his squad to give his attack a different dimension.
Chukwueze has been on the Gunners’ radar for a while and could make an approach to signing him during the winter window. The Nigeria international’s contract at the Estadio de la Cerámica will expire at the end of next season and the Yellow Submarine are willing to entertain offers for him.
He is valued at €20 million by TransferMarkt. A transfer fee in the region of that sum could prove to be enough to lure him away from the Estadio de la Ceramica.
However, the London outfit will face competition from Everton, Aston Villa, and Atletico Madrid to secure his services. Apart from Chukwueze, Mykhaylo Mudryk is another winger linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks.
Garth Crooks praises Martin Odegaard
Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Garth Crooks has heaped praise on Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard. He said (via Arsenal Buzz): “The more I see this player the more I like him. Cool under pressure, never over-celebrates and, dare I say it, brings a touch of elegance to an Arsenal side that is showing more class than I’m used to seeing from the Gunners.”
Odegaard has been in terrific form this season. He has registered six goals and two assists in 13 Premier League games so far. The Norway international was nominated for the PL Player of the Month award in August. His form will be key for the Gunners as they look to lift the Premier League title this season
