Arsenal are ready to make the Algerian winger its first summer signing, Following his contract termination.
The 29-year-old Yacine Brahimi, the Algerian winger and currently a free agent has failed to agree on new terms with his current team and has been linked with a number of European clubs. The player has managed to get attention from neighboring clubs and countries.
Last season, Brahimi scored almost 13 goals and created nine more in 49 matches across all the competition.
As per the reports claim, the player’s contract with Porto has reached its expiry date and the player didn’t renew the contract with the club knowing about the interest from Unai Emery side.
Arsenal have been strongly linked with the player recently and it seems that they have won the race to sign him. Everton, Manchester United, Wolves have all been in line for him.
The Gunners have also beat-off competition from Turkey’s big three clubs- Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Besiktas whose proposals also got rejected by Brahimi.
According to the reports Arsenal are likely to pay around 3.5million on his signing as a bonus and the announcement of the move to the Emirates is expected after Algeria will finish its participation in the Africa cup of Nations.
But as we know about the Arsenal’s low summer transfer budget that is estimated to be around £40million which would have been certainly higher had they qualified for the next season Champions League.
The Gunners are now eagerly waiting for some great offers for their at striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to boost the budget amount that Unai Emery can spend this summer.
Another report has emerged of a player who is linked with a move to Arsenal is Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.
Arsenal being Zaha’s boyhood club and he keeps insisting Palace let him join the Gunners but the asking price £80million has been set by the palace chief for 26 years old and Arsenal will be hoping Palace will heavily reduce the transfer fee for the Ivory Coast international.
Yacine is known for his Brahimi moments and could become a real asset for Gunners. Arsenal will be in no loss with bringing him to Emirate. Already facing a tight budget this season, they also want to strengthen the squad. Bringing some free agents like Brahimi would Maxime the summer budget.
