Arsenal legend Ian Wright says he would love to see the Gunners sign a player like Paul Pogba. The Frenchman was on fire for Manchester United in their clash against Aston Villa. Seeing Pogba’s performance, Wright expressed his desire to see a player of the same quality at the Emirates Stadium.
Paul Pogba is under some unrest after his agent Mino Raiola revealed his intentions to leave Old Trafford. Hence, it was seen as a sign of the downfall of Paul Pogba at Manchester United. But on the contrary, the Frenchman has been at his best for the past few weeks. Putting forward utmost efforts into the game for United.
Pogba had direct involvement in both of United’s goals. Allowing the Red Devils to beat Villa 2-1 and go on par with Liverpool in the PL table. Ian Wright was so impressed to see Pogba back in his best game. It was a foul against Pogba that gave United a penalty which Bruno easily shot into the net.
Arsenal has been looking vulnerable lately when it came to playing in the midfield. There was a lack of creativity in the Arsenal midfield. But Mikel Arteta was able to resolve the issue with the introduction of Emile Smith Rowe. However, Ian Wright feels that he would love to see a ‘Paul Pogba’ in the Arsenal midfield as well.
Wright was praising Paul Pogba

Speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day
“Yes [Pogba is back to his best] he is and you know, with all the stuff that’s happened with him he’s getting it right on the pitch,” -Ian Wright.
We saw the classic baller in Pogba in the game against Villa. Combining well with Bruno Fernandes and running past the opposition with ease. The midfielder was also able to find gaps for key passes into the box. Paul Pogba was all around the pitch controlling the complete game on his own. Playing in the opposition’s box, his box, and making attempts on goal when he could.
If Arsenal were able to sign a similar ace, the Gunners might have an edge as well. Paul Pogba however was unable to find the back of the net to Wright’s disappointment. Ian Wright feels that Pogba should’ve got a goal against Villa after his superior performance. It was a great sight to see the Frenchman at his best once again after a long time.
Pogba may stick around at Man United

Though there have been rumors of Paul Pogba making an exit for a while now. The French midfielder may stick around for a while longer. There have been several interest in Pogba from all around Europe. But if he continues to play at his best, United may choose to tie down the midfielder.
However, Paul Pogba will demand more starts at United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was seen benching Pogba quite often until a few weeks back. The 27-year-old will demand more game time as well if he is to stay. Manchester United are now on par with Liverpool with 33 points and with a game in hand. United are favorites to lift the Premier League title this term and Ole will ensure to have his key midfielder available.
Ole and co will face Manchester City next on Thursday in the Carabao Cup semifinals. Pogba will hope to get a start against City after his top-notch performance. Pep Guardiola and co are also looking great thrashing Chelsea to a 3-1 victory.
Arsenal are also back on track to win their last three games. Mikel Arteta was able to resolve the lack of creativity with a few changes in his squad. The Spaniard is also hoping to use the transfer window to make some key signings. As Ian Wright said, Arteta is eyeing to sign some creative midfielders with an eye for goal.
