North London giants Arsenal are now ready to listen to offers for England international Jack Wilshere, as they to sell their midfield superstar in the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old midfielder has not been able to revive his career at the Emirates, as he struggles to fight back into the playing eleven under Arsene Wenger. He is into the final year of his current contract with the Gunners and was being linked with a move away from north London for quite some time now. For his age, Wilshere could still represent some very decent business for Wenger.
Arsenal prepared to let go of Wilshere
In a recent report prepared by Colin Mafham of the Sunday Express, he has claimed that the English giants will now listen to offers for their star including the likes of Ozil and Alexis Sanchez as well, as they look to cash in on them, if they do not sign a new deal in the new year.
It further suggests that the club will ignore whatever sentiments Wenger may have and go ahead with their plans of making money out of the sale of these top stars.
The French manager has always been an admirer of the midfield superstar, who has been playing for Arsenal’s senior team since 2008.
He was sent on loan to Bournemouth last term and has only started this season in the Europa League and the Carabao Cup. He has not been an integral part of the team in the top flight of English football and has not really been the main-stay of Wenger’s plans.
This would have made him even more unhappy, along with the fact that he has been struggling with a number of injury problems too.
Honestly, as a Gooner,I feel that it is high time that the club puts more faith in Wilshere and convinces him to stay for a few more seasons, with the likes of Ozil and Sanchez looking to leave the club soon. The Englishman could be the temporary remedy, if not a long term solution for the team’s midfield problems, as we must not forget that he is just 25 at the moment and has a lot of football still left in him.
