According to reports, Premier League giants Arsenal have now made a surprising £43m bid to bring German international Julian Draxler to the Emirates this summer. The 22 year old winger left Schalke to join their Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg last summer for a fee of £26m and had agreed a five-year contract with the club. Despite that, Arsene Wenger is now keen on bringing him to England, after the player not just impressed at the club level, but in the Euro 2016 tournament as well.

ESPN have now claim that the French manager is trying to push a deal through, as he looks to add more quality options to his current squad.

The winger played in four of Germany’s Euro 2016 games in France and manged to score against Slovakia as well, which would have caught the attention of the Gunners.

Apart from the north London outfit, their English rivals Manchester United and Liverpool have been also keeping tabs on the player in recent times.

However, Wenger might be the one to have the most interest in pushing through a deal, with rumours suggesting the possible exit of Chile international Alexis Sanchez recently.

The former Barcelona man is said to be unhappy with life in London and wants to return to Italy as soon as possible, as per his agent.

If that does happen, Wenger will have no choice but to spend more money and find a suitable replacement, if not more, for the player who took his national side to a second consecutive Copa America triumph.
