The Gunners demand a fee or a player in return as they are willing to omit Ramsey.
Disappointment is evident on the faces of Arsenal fans when they heard Unai Emery admitting Arsenal can only sign players on loan. It’s a time when Arsenal desperately need an addition of one or two players to bolster their chances of finishing in the top 4. With Ramsey leaving the club, The north London club is desperate to have a midfield player. It seems the Gunners demand two players from Juventus as Ramsey completes medical for the Serie A champions.
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey will be a Juventus player next season after undergoing the first part of a medical. That’s according to La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira. Ramsey will be allowed to join the Serie A champions on a free transfer in the summer. But Juve’s sporting director Fabio Paratici is keen to secure him this month. However, Schira claims the Gunners are only willing to let him go in January if they secure a fee of around £18m or receive Medhi Benatia in return.
Schira tweeted, “Done deal! Aaron #Ramsey has done the first part of medical visits with #Juventus. Paratici has tried to take him in this January, but #Arsenal wants for him €18-20M or #Benatia. From next summer Ramsey will be the #Juve’s player and will sign 5-years contract. #transfers #AFC.”
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has Juventus centre-back Benatia at the forefront of his plans after defender Rob Holding was ruled out for the remainder of the season through injury. The Morocco international has made just five Serie A appearances this term. He knows he could see his game time increase if he takes up the offer of a move to north London.
Benatia is under contract until 2020, but Juve are unlikely to consider selling this month. Arsenal need a creative midfielder and a defender. They don’t have the funds to sign a new player. Also if they sell Ramsey they have high chances of securing a deal for Denis Suarez and could get a loan deal for a defender. However, a move for Benatia could hamper their move for Suarez.
