Arsenal News: Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang forged a great friendship in London. Owing to this, the Frenchman sent a parting message post his strike partner’s departure.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was released from his Arsenal contract on the last day of the January transfer window. The striker last featured for the Gunners in December against Everton.
Since then, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta had sidelined the striker following a “disciplinary breach”. Owing to this, Arteta had stripped Aubameyang off the captain’s armband and didn’t allow the striker to train with the squad.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was officially unveiled as a Barcelona player on Thursday. The striker signed as a free agent after terminating his contract with Arsenal on deadline day.
In the press conference, Aubameyang was asked about Mikel Arteta. He was asked what had happened that led to his departure. For this, the Gabonese striker said that only the Arsenal manager had a problem with him. But he didn’t reveal anything publically.
Aubameyang said “Mikel Arteta made the decision and I can’t say much more. He wasn’t happy but I stayed very calm! That’s it.” He then concluded by saying “It’s true that there were complicated months. But I think football has these things sometimes.”
