Arsenal News: With all the big clubs starting the transfer window with a bang, Mikel Arteta does not want to be left behind. Arsenal had an average season last season as the club missed on their target of Champions League Qualification.
Mikel Arteta’s team did show promise in the latter half of the season. But Arsenal had a really poor finish indicating that the team lacks experience and depth. Although, the Spaniard has done very well in building a core for Arsenal.
This season the club has to build on its momentum. Mikel Arteta is addressing Arsenal’s issues one by one. The club is hours away from announcing its second signing of the season.
Fabio Vieira who plays as an attacking midfielder is close to reaching an agreement with Arsenal. Creativity in Arsenal’s midfield has been an issue for Mikel Arteta and he will be hoping that Viera would be the solution.

Mikel Arteta is building a reputation for making surprise deals in the transfer market. It was a very quick arrangement with Porto which is expected to conclude today. Porto and Arsenal have already an agreement regarding the “release clause”.
As per reports from the Mirror, Fabio will fly to London today to agree on personal terms. Mikel Arteta seems to have had his eye on Fabio for about a year now. His vision and creativity could be the spark that Arsenal needs.
As per reports Arsenal will end up paying €40 million for Fabio Vieria. The club will offer €35m initially and then €5m as add-ons. This could be a good signing for Arsenal as Fabio offers versatility to the squad.
He can slot in as a central midfielder as well as a false number 9. If you look in terms of production he has 7 goals and 16 assists to his name in 39 appearances for Porto in all competitions.

In the past few weeks, Arsenal has been heavily linked with Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans. Tielamans has shown a desire to play for a bigger club but has the Champions League in his sight.
Arsenal is lagging in that matter but they are still a good option for Tielemans. Edu made a €50 million approach although no confirmations have arisen out of this scenario.
If Arsenal were to sign Vieira their chances of signing Tielemans would reduce significantly. The club also plans to bring in a new number 9 and maybe another central defender so they need to work within of the budget.
Vieira’s game is somewhat similar to Odegaard’s but he has the physicality to play as a central midfielder as well. Mikel Arteta will have to make the decision whether to wait on Tielemans or to conclude the deal with Vieira.
