Arsenal News: The Gunners Favourites as Youri Tielemans Rejects Manchester United! 

Arsenal News: Youri Tielemans has reportedly rejected a move to Manchester United in the summer. Hence the Gunners remain favourites but they would need to secure Champions League football to attract the Leicester City midfielder.

The Gunners have significantly improved under Mikel Arteta this season. But the North London club still have a couple of loopholes in the team that they need to fix before next season. 

Mikel Arteta himself has been very vocal regarding the shortage of players in centre-midfield and the forward positions. Hence the Gunners will be trying to make acquisitions, especially in these positions. 

The Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke invested around £150m in transfers last summer. With significant improvement seen in the squad, Kroenke is expected to invest something similar this year as well.

Arsenal News: As per the Mirror, Manchester United are out of the race to sign Youri Tielemans. Hence this has now given the Gunners the pole position to sign the Leicester City midfielder. 

Youri Tielemans is no longer interested in a move to Manchester United as they have missed the bus to the UEFA Champions League. After a horrendous season under Ralf Rangnick, the Red Devils can no longer finish in the top four. 

Champions League football is reportedly a priority for Youri Tielemans. Hence this would add even more incentive to Arsenal as they look to finish in the top four for the first time since the 2015/16 season. 

The Gunners currently occupy the fourth spot in the Premier League table. They are currently four points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur. But the two North London rivals are set to go head to head on Thursday. 

Hence a victory against Tottenham Hotspur would guarantee Arsenal a return to the UEFA Champions League. However, if the Gunners lose, they could still possibly make it if they win their remaining matches against Newcastle United and Everton.

Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has also reportedly informed the club’s management that he intends to pump in even more money if the club qualifies for the UEFA Champions League. Hence Mikel Arteta would surely be under pressure with just three Premier League games remaining.

Arsenal News: Youri Tielemans joined the Foxes in July 2019. Since then the Belgian midfielder has scored 21 goals in 142 appearances for Leicester City. He has also been a crucial part of the team as they won the FA Cup and the Community Shield last season. 

The central midfielder is very creative and he has been the standout player for Leicester City this season. Mikel Arteta lacks a player of Youri Tielemans’ qualities at the club. Hence he would be a superb buy for Arsenal if they choose to go all out for the £40 million player.
