After a brief period in Atalanta, Locatelli joined the youth facilities of Serie-A giants AC Milan. He then graduated from the academy Milan and made his senior team debut for the Rossoneri.
Locatelli then won the Supercopa Italiana with Milan and played two seasons for them. The midfielder then joined fellow Serie-A club Sassuolo on loan. Locatelli soon became a key part of the Black and Greens and his loan deal was converted into a permanent one.
Locatelli showed great consistency and got his debut national team call-up. He made his debut for the national team in a 1-0 victory over the Netherlands. Locatelli then established himself in the Italian team and won the Euro 2020 championship with them. After this successful Euro Campaign, Locatelli joined Juventus on a two-year loan from Sassuolo.
Arsenal interested in Juventus midfielder Locatelli
After joining Juventus in the winter of 2021, Locatelli has failed to produce consistent performances like his Sassuolo days. The midfielder is now not even a guaranteed starter at Turin.
His play style is clearly not suited to be part of Massimiliano Allergir’s team so he has suffered in these few months. Juventus currently hold a €35 million buy option for the talented midfielder but it seems like they will not spend the money on him.
Now a recent report from Football Italia suggests that EPL club Arsenal are once again interested to bring the midfielder to Emirates.
The Gunners were among the many teams who tried to sign the midfielder after his brilliant Euro 2020 campaign. However, they failed to reop in the Italian International back then. But now Arsenal once again thinks, they can acquire his services.
Arsenal have got a great start to the season. They have won seven out of their first eight matches. They are currently positioned at the top of the Premier League.
Arsenal have recently suffered due to multiple injuries to their midfield. They tried to bring Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa on the deadline day for the same reason but were not successful.
Now the Gunners’ management knows perfectly that if they want to win the coveted EPL, they will need more signings in the base of midfield. Hence, they got interested in the Italian midfielder.
Earlier it was revealed that Arsenal’s fellow English Premier League team Manchester United also tried to sign the midfielder. However, back then Juventus were in no mood to leave him. But now the situation has changed and they will not be an obstacle in Arsenal’s way.
Juventus will play against Bologna in their next match and will hope to turn around their season.
