Arsenal players couldn’t respond to tactical demands of Arteta in Spurs defeat

Arsenal lost the North London derby against Tottenham. It was the first time Arteta and Mourinho were locking horns.

Despite a good start from Arsenal, the match was in favor of Tottenham. Arteta did very well display a change in tactical play. But his players were not able to deliver him with a win. Tottenham on the other hand was more composed and defensive.

Arsenal did find the back of the net from an absolute stunner from Lacazette. But Son Heung-min found an equalizer from a defensive error. Though David Luiz tried to catch up with Son, he was just not able to clock the ball from the net.

There were a lot of attacks from the Gunners, which was a great sight for the fans. But Tottenham secured the second goal from a beautiful header from Toby Alderweireld. Arteta can be happy for the fact that despite the loss, Arsenal had most of the possession and attacking play. It was a comparatively good performance from the Gunners in a while.

Arteta did apologize to the fans for not securing a win, via SkySports. But was glad for the performance his squad showcased. The loss is hampering their Europa League chances. Arsenal is having a really bad time this season. But the Spanish coach will look to come back stronger next time around.
