Arsene Wenger’s side are said to be closing in on signing young defender Rob Holding, as per recent reports coming in now. The England U-21 international has completed a medical at Arsenal, with a potential move now to the Emirates now on the cards in the upcoming days, with Bolton accepting an offer for the defender from the north London outfit.
The Bolton News further added that the 20 year old defensive superstar already completed the first part of his proposed move to the Premier League giants and is in talks currently regarding personal terms with the Gunners.
Two other clubs from the top flight of English football have also shown an interest in the defender’s services, though Holding prefers to join the French manager’s side in the current transfer window.
Arsenal are looking for quality defensive superstars, with Wenger eager to strengthen his back-line, as he looks to win more titles in the near future.
The Londoners have a couple of signings under their belt so far, with midfielder Granit Xhaka joining them early from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach and the recent signing of Japanese striker Takuma Asano, with the Frenchman looking to strengthen his squad prior to the start of the 2016-17 campaign.
After finishing in second place in the league table last term, 10 points behind surprise champions Leicester City, Arsenal want to ensure that they do not suffer a similar fate this time around. Holding could surely be a player for the long-term future, if the move does go through in the upcoming days.
