Arsenal Transfer News: The Gunners are reportedly looking to sign a striker in the January transfer window. Among the possibilities, Alexander Isak has stood out as a top target for the North London side.
Mikel Arteta’s side is in need of a top striker to continue their winning run. Both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract in June. To add to this, talks of an extension have broken down, and the duo looks set to depart the club.
The situation is even worse for former captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabonese striker has struggled for form this season. And the situation got even worse for him in December.
Mikel Arteta has frozen out Aubameyang following a ‘disciplinary breach’. Since then, the forward has not featured for the squad. Aubameyang was also removed from captaincy for the same. At the moment, it is not known if he will ever play for Arsenal again.
Arsenal Transfer News: Will Alexander Isak join in 2022?

As per El Nacional, Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak is a top target for Arsenal. Owing to this, the club will attempt to sign him in the summer.
Barcelona and Juventus were also reportedly interested in the forward. But Real Sociedad has blocked a move to their Spanish rivals. Owing to this, Arsenal are the firm favourites to get Isak.
Though Arsenal want to sign Alexander Isak in January, it is looking highly unlikely. Real Sociedad are doing well in LaLiga and the Europa League. Hence, they are looking to hold onto their player for now. Owing to this, a summer transfer could be on the cards for Arsenal.
The Swedish striker comes with a price tag of £75m. Hence Arsenal would have to empty their pockets if they are to sign the striker. Barcelona’s manager Xavi Hernandez was ‘very interested’ in signing Isak. But the release clause turned out to be too much for the debt-ridden club.

Alexander Isak has stood out for Real Sociedad since signing for them in 2019. The Swedish forward has scored 40 goals in 111 appearances for the club to date.
Apart from Real Sociedad, Isak has also played for AIK, Borussia Dortmund, and Willem II. The striker has also made 34 appearances for his Swedish National team.
The Swedish striker wants to play in England
Alexander Isak has already shown his desire to play in the Premier League. The striker had recently said, “I’m in a good place at the moment. I Am very happy, but one day it would be nice to play in England as well.”
Arsenal have been monitoring the striker for quite some time. It has to be seen if the Gunners manage to convince Alexander Isak to move to North London in the summer.
