Arsenal Transfer News: The Gunners are looking for a reliable center forward going in the January transfer window. And they have identified Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak for the same.
The Gunners are currently placed in 4th place in the Premier League table. Mikel Arteta’s side went on an impressive winning streak after a slow start. Owing to this, Arsenal have 35 points in 20 Premier League games.
Youngsters like Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli have been key fixtures in Arsenal’s current run of form. The youngsters have contributed 18 of the 33 goals that the Gunners have scored.
A lot was expected from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. But the former Arsenal captain has failed to find form with the club. To add to this, he has also been suspended by the club for ‘disciplinary action’. Alexandre Lacazette has also failed to deliver to the expectations of the supporters.
Arsenal are targeting Alexander Isak in January

As per JuveFC, The Gunners are set to battle it out with Juventus to sign Alexander Isak. The Real Sociedad forward is a target to both the clubs who are looking to add to their forwards rank in January.
Arsenal are uncertain about the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. Owing to this, the Gunners are expected to dive into the market for a reputed striker in January.
Juventus are in the same boat as the Gunners. The Old Lady are looking to part ways with Alvaro Morata. With Barcelona interested, Juventus could let the Spaniard leave once they sign a striker. Hence, they have identified Alexander Isak as an able replacement.
The Swedish striker signed for Real Sociedad in July 2019. Since then, he has gone on to score 40 goals in 110 appearances for the Spanish club. Isak has also represented Willem II, Borussia Dortmund, and AIK in his career.
Alexander Isak had a standout 2020/21 season with Real Sociedad. The Swedish striker scored 17 goals and provided 2 assists in La Liga for La Real in 34 games.
Isak is also a regular in the Swedish National team. The 22-year-old forward made his debut in 2017. Since then he has gone on to score 10 goals in 34 appearances for his national team.
Will Isak consider moving to the Gunners?
Alexander Isak’s contract with Real Sociedad runs up to June 2026. The release clause is rumored to be above €60m as per sources. Owing to this, Arsenal would have to burn their pockets to get the striker.
Mikel Arteta’s project is taking off in North London. The results have been very positive and Arsenal are looking set to return to European competition. This could quite possibly turn the head of the Swedish striker. It has to be seen what Alexander Isak decides if Arsenal approach him in the coming days.
