Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal have been monitoring Dusan Vlahovic and have submitted an official bid as well. But as per reports Juventus also are interested in signing the Serbian striker in January.
With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rumoured to be leaving, Arsenal only have Edward Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette as attacking options. But both the strikers have their contracts expiring in the summer.
Owing to this, Mikel Arteta is on the lookout to sign a striker in January. And as per reports, Dusan Vlahovic is the foremost option for the Arsenal manager.
Juventus are on the same boat as Arsenal when it comes to the striking options. Alvaro Morata, currently on loan from Atletico Madrid, is the chief striker at Juventus right now. But the Spaniard has not been in the best of form, hence the Serie A giants are looking for a replacement.
Juventus to rival Arsenal for Dusan Vlahovic in January
As per Metro, Juventus are planning to rival Arsenal for the services of the Fiorentina striker. The Old Lady is interested in landing the forward and are looking to give a better offer than Arsenal.
Arsenal have already submitted an official bid for Fiorentina. The Gunners have offered €60m plus Lucas Torreira to the Serie A club for the services of Dusan Vlahovic. Fiorentina have reportedly accepted the bid, but the striker is hesitant over the move.
As per reports, Dusan Vlahovic isn’t very interested in a move to Arsenal. His representatives have made it clear that the Serbian wants to participate in the Champions League regularly. But the Gunners can’t guarantee that at the moment.
Dusan Vlahovic has himself shown an affinity towards Juventus and would rather prefer to move to the Serie A giants from Fiorentina. Juventus were initially going to wait, but have decided to file a bid in January itself.
As per the report, Juventus will be submitting a bid of €70m for the Serbian striker. The report claims that Juventus’ bid includes €35m cash plus Dejan Kulusevski, whom they value at €35m.
Juventus’ sporting director will meet up with Dusan Vlahovic’s representatives later in the week. After which the Serie A giants will be filing an official bid as per reports.
Can Mikel Arteta still get Vlahovic?
Mikel Arteta was asked earlier in the week whether Arsenal will secure Dusan Vlahovic in January. To this, the Arsenal manager replied, “The team is working extremely hard to get the players that we want but we have no news to give you.”
With Juventus into the mix, it is likely that Dusan Vlahovic would prefer the Serie A giants over Arsenal. Hence it has to be seen what Mikel Arteta and the club management would do if this deal goes away from them.
