The midfielder was promoted to Braga’s first team in 2016 and made his debut against G.D.Chaves. He made 18 appearances across all competitions for the Portuguese club.
The midfielder joined Lille on loan in 2017 and recorded one goal and two assists in 13 appearances while staying on loan. The Ligue 1 side exercised the buy option and brought him in for €5 million. At Lille, he was sent out on loan to Dijon in the 2017-18 season.

After failing to sign Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa on the transfer deadline day, Mikel Arteta is looking to add another option Mohamed Elneny’s thigh injury.

There are other promising names in the free agent market like Adel Taarabt, Mehdi Abeid, Nemanja Radoja, Fabian Delph, and Mousa Dembele. Dembele played for Tottenham under Pochetino and recently departed Chinese side Guangzhou City earlier this year.
There is a limit of 17 players above the age of 21 in the Premier League squad. Those players will not be classified as Home Grown Players that can be named. Arteta currently has 14 on board. So, the speculation about an arrival of a free agent has ignited. Among those players, Xeka is best suited for Arteta.
