Owing to this, Arsenal are expected to be on the lookout for a decent striker in the 2022 summer transfer market. Among all the options, Dusan Vlahovic is reportedly being favored by Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal Transfer News: Will Dusan Vlahovic join Arsenal?
As per Metro UK, Arsenal have made a transfer bid for Dusan Vlahovic. The Gunners have offered £45m and Lucas Torreira for the services of the Fiorentina Forward.
But the deal is unlikely to happen, as per Sky Sports Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio. According to Marzio, Vlahovic’s representatives are very negative towards a move to North London.
Dusan Vlahovic’s representatives are waiting for an offer from a bigger club as per Gianluca Di Marzio. They want the Serbian to go to a club where he can win trophies immediately. Hence, his representatives have not even returned Arsenal’s calls in the last few months.
Vlahovic has been in scintillating form with Fiorentina this season. The striker has scored 16 goals in 19 Serie A games this season. Owing to this, he has drawn interest from many European clubs. Arsenal were the first club to send an official bid in the January transfer window.
Fiorentina bosses not happy with the Serbian’s representatives
Not just Arsenal, but it looks like even the Fiorentina management is not happy with the behavior of Vlahovic’s representatives. And Fiorentina’s director Joe Barone made it very clear in a recent interview.
Joe Barone said, “During the most recent meeting with the Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso, Vlahovic’s agent almost doubled his demands. This shows a total lack of respect for the club and the president.”
The Fiorentina director also added, “We’ve been working on these negotiations with Vlahovic’s agent for around a year. But when we increased our offer, they continued to ask for more in both salary and commissions.”
Joe Barone has added that the stance of Dusan Vlahovic or his agent has not changed over the last few weeks. Nor has the club heard anything from his agent recently. Dusan Vlahovic has just about a year left in his Fiorentina contract. Hence, it has to be seen if he decides to leave at the end of the season.
