Ismael Bennacer, Serge Gnabry, Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Donyell Malen are the few names who were expected to become big names at Arsenal. Arsenal is widely known for its huge academy and its academy players. The club has a custom of raising and building up young talents into first-team stars. The academy players, turning into starlets first came into the spotlight under Arsene Wenger. When players like Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Cesc Fabregas, and Kieran Gibbs became regular first-team players under Wenger.
However, Arsenal’s custom of nurturing their academy players has somewhat changed. Lately, The North Londoners are using their checkbook to bring polished talents with the likes of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazatte, and Bernd Leno.
There have been players like Matteo Guendouzi who has arrived and has also shown glimpses of his skills and potential in the first team. On the other hand players like Bukayo Saka have also taken the spotlight in the previous campaign of Arsenal.

Now that under Mikel Arteta tutelage Arsenal is looking to invest in the talent hunting of few more players. Gunners are also likely to bring some players from the ranks of the academy. But it seems the highly-rated academy striker Folarin Balogun is not a part of the future plans. The Athletic reported that the 18-year-old is reluctant to sign a new deal with the club. Moreover he isis going to leave the Emirates in the next transfer window.
Brentford has expressed their interest in signing the young striker back in January. The club is known to offer a £5million but Arsenal has turned down the bid in order to keep tie him down with another contract.
The Gunners have already missed four of their exciting young talents in the last four campaigns. Moreover, it seems that Folarin Balogun has already joined the list of players with his contract expiring in June.
